For the second year in a row, we’re partnering with the Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) to bring a monthly film series to the library. The series begins with ASHAM: A Man Called Hope on Thursday, June 26, and all films will be shown in the Community Room at Robbins. Some of the films are teen-appropriate, but parents should note ratings as well as film descriptions available at http://www.aiffest.org/2012-festival-program/ and elsewhere online.
The series began when April Ranck and Alberto Guzman, the husband-and-wife team behind AIFF, approached the library and offered to show a selection of the previous year’s Festival films as a lead-up to the actual Festival, which takes place in October. It was a great way to share the films with audiences who may have missed them and spread cultural awareness in the community, as well as drum up enthusiasm for the Festival.
You can find a full line-up of films and descriptions on our events calendar: http://www.robbinslibrary.org/events/c/movies.
