The next book for the NSYA Book Group will be The Notorious Benedict Arnold: A True Story of Adventure, Heroism, and Treachery by Steve Sheinkin. This is a book group for adults in which we discuss books written for teens. Nobody is too old to attend!
Our meeting will be on June 9 at 7pm in the Robbins Library Conference Room. Copies of the book are available now at the circulation desk.
This biography about Benedict Arnold won the 2011 Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for Nonfiction, as well as the YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults. Plus, some people I know told me they liked it a lot which, honestly, means more to me than awards do. I’m looking forward to learning more about this intriguing figure in US history and discussing it with you when we get together on the 9th.
For those of you who liked to plan ahead, here are our next books and dates:
July 14, The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth LaBan
August 11, No Choirboy: Murder, Violence, and Teenagers on Death Row by Susan Kuklin
