Recommend e-books for the library’s digital collection

The Minuteman Library Network (MLN), of which Arlington is a proud member, has just added a new feature to our Digital Media Catalog: the ability to request the purchase of e-books (and digital audiobooks) that aren’t currently in the collection. If you suggest a title for purchase, you have the option to be notified when it’s added to the collection, and even to be placed on the hold list right away.

Get step-by-step directions, illustrated with screen shots, by downloading this .doc file: RTL_Screenshots (RTL = Request To Library)

Those who wish to bypass the instructions can go straight to the Advanced Search option in the digital media catalog, scroll down, and check the box next to “Additional titles to recommend.”

Note that not all books published are available for libraries to purchase as e-books, but all of the books that come up as results in the search above will be available to purchase.
