Staff Picks Book Club reads How to Be a Woman

howtobeawomanThe Staff Picks Book Club meets in a mere two days to discuss How to Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran. Start off the new year with this tremendously funny and insightful book (the author, I suspect, would have me use the words “feminist screed,” and proudly). For those who read Lean In with us in November, this should provide an especially interesting read.

Moran is not afraid to delve into touchy subjects, and we shouldn’t be either (though if you’re squeamish or easily offended, you may want to give this one a miss, and get started on next month’s book instead; it’s the excellent Instructions for a Heatwave by Maggie O’Farrell).

Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk. As always, all are welcome to join us, this Wednesday, January 8, at 7pm in the Robbins Library Conference Room.
