As the year 2013 winds down, we at the library hope you get a few moments to relax by yourself or in the company of family and friends. And what better way to relax than by reading a good book?
- Teens can find great book suggestions through the many reading lists on the teen website, including this recent list of “marvelous mystery books.”
- Anyone can browse “recently awesome” items: books, movies, and music that other library users have dubbed awesome. Have you read, watched, or listened to something from the library that you thought was awesome? Drop it in the Awesome Box.
- See the books Robbins librarians have been reading on Goodreads. We read, rate, and review adult and YA fiction and nonfiction, so there ought to be something for everyone. Recent reads include We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves and The Goldfinch.
- Look ahead to January and start reading one of the book club books. In January, the Staff Picks book group will be reading How to Be a Woman; the Guys Book Group will be reading Bunker Hill; the Not-So-Young-Adult book group will be reading Out of the Easy; the Teens Only book group will be reading Winter Town; and the Robbins Library Book Discussion Group will be celebrating its twentieth(!) anniversary and reading The Irresistible Henry House. There should be copies of all these books at the circulation desk at Robbins and at Fox.
So come on in and get your books (or request them online). Remember, the library will be closed on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25; on Wednesday, December 31 we will be closing at 5pm.
