Please join us for special guest speaker Bridget Spence, sponsored by the Friends of the Robbins Library. Bridget is a cancer survivor and amazing speaker, who will be at the Robbins Library on Tuesday October 23 at 7pm.
Bridget Spence works for Event 360, the nation’s leading designer and director of fundraising, advocacy and awareness events for nonprofits, as their Boston-area Field Coordinator. Bridget is also a nationally recognized speaker, blogger, and advocate for young breast cancer survivors. Since her breast cancer diagnosis in 2005, Bridget has dedicated her life to raising awareness about breast cancer in young women. Over the past five years as a Susan G. Komen 3-Day walker, Bridget has walked more than 300 miles and raised more than $13,000 to support ground breaking research and scientific programs. Bridget received the 2009 Boston University Distinguished Young Alumni Award, the highest honor bestowed by BU upon its alumni, and her story has been featured on Live! With Regis and Kelly, in Glamour, Teen Vogue and Women’s Health magazines. Bridget’s blog titled My Big Girl Pants chronicles her fight against metastatic breast cancer and now has an international following.
