Now You Know: Sunday hours

Have you ever been to the Robbins Library on a Sunday?  Whenever the doors are opened on Sunday afternoons from October until May, people are waiting to take advantage of all the Robbins offers.  Those doors are opened because of the generosity of donors.  Every Sunday afternoon is funded by $1,200 in gifts.  Please consider making a donation to keep the library’s doors opening on Sundays this coming year.

Donations are made at the Robbins Library website, by mail or in person.  To donate via the web, go to our donor page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill in your donation next to Sunday Campaign.

Thank you!

$1200 cost to the public for ten library employees of paying library employees $120 each for only three hours work???? This must be Stalinist Russia (again). And how long has this been going on? If you had truly devoted employees they would donate their time. But oh no. This disparity is as old as the pathetic condition of some streets in Arlington long neglected by the ” town fathers.”

Thank you for sharing your opinion regarding Sunday openings. I believe that the employees of the library are among the most dedicated employees in the Town of Arlington. Sundays are funded thanks to the generosity of private donations and are not funded by taxpayer dollars. The Robbins Library is heavily used on Sundays as we typically average over 400 visitors in the three hours we are open every Sunday. If you have further questions or concerns regarding Sunday openings, please feel free to contact me directly. My direct e-mail and phone number can be found here.

      Sincerely,
      Ryan Livergood
      Director of Libraries
      Town of Arlington
