Summer Reading Event: Booktalk featuring author Nichole Bernier

What’s a booktalk, you ask? It’s exactly what it sounds like: a talk about books! Please join us in the Community Room at 7pm on Wednesday, August 1, for a special summer reading booktalk featuring Nichole Bernier, author of The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D.

“Start at the beginning.” Those are the instructions Kate Spenser receives along with her friend Elizabeth’s trunk of journals after Elizabeth’s death. Kate thought she knew her friend well – but did she really? And why didn’t Elizabeth leave the journals to her husband, Dave?

Bernier’s debut novel examines “what makes a life, secrets shared and secrets kept, and the complete makeup of a single human being…” (Booklist). Bernier will read from her novel, and also share some of her own favorite summer reads, in conversation with Adult Services Librarian Jenny Arch.

So mark your calendars and please join us in the Community Room of the Robbins Library on Wednesday, August 1. Start the new month with some great suggestions for summer reads!
