Don’t forget we’ll be meeting on Monday at 7pm at Starbucks to talk about The Half-Life of Planets by Emily Franklin and Brendan Halpin. Oh, and did I mention that Brendan Halpin may be dropping by? This is a perfect opportunity to get answers to your pressing questions about the book, and about being a YA author!
Also, we’ll be choosing our next couple of books so bring all your book suggestions and we can vote on what to read this summer. (Or make your suggestions below in the comments!)
I’ve already ordered copies of the next book which should be here by the weekend. We’ll be reading Going Bovine by Libba Bray, a novel about a boy with mad cow disease who sets off on a road trip to find a cure, and possibly save the world. How awesome does that sound? Seriously, I’ve read almost all of Libba Bray’s other books and they have been fantastic! She is super hilarious – just watch this video to see her talk (in costume!) about the book. How can you not want to read it after seeing that? Ok, maybe that doesn’t sell you on it, but take my word for it – she is a super talented writer and everything I’ve heard about this book has been positive and the reviews are glowing. It even won a Printz Award!
See you all on Monday night!
